Fade: The Intel Queen
Fade is one of the strongest intel-gathering Initiators in the game. Her kit lets her mark, reveal, and track enemies, providing tactical first-strike advantages for her team.
Haunt (E) Mastery
Fade's Haunt deploys an eye that scans a forward cone, revealing enemy positions. Scanned enemies are marked with a trail.
- Scan angle selection: The eye should cover the most likely enemy positions. Don't throw it at empty space — mentally predict enemy locations before deploying
- Elevation advantage: Place the eye high for wider scan coverage, or low to bypass visual obstructions from terrain
- Smoke synergy: Use Haunt after teammates deploy smokes to mark enemies inside or behind the smoke
- Protect the eye: Haunt can be shot and destroyed. Place it in corners, elevated spots, or unexpected positions to maximize its survival time
Nightfall (X / Ultimate) Timing
Fade's ultimate unleashes a wave of dark energy in a forward cone. Enemies hit lose hearing and vision.
- Attack opener: Use ultimate before the team push to strip defenders of intel and vision temporarily
- Retake powerhouse: Launch ultimate into the site during retakes to mark defender positions and weaken their perception
- Clutch monster: In 1v1 or 1v2 clutches, your ultimate creates a massive information asymmetry advantage
- Ultimate combos: Fade ult + Raze ult / Brimstone ult combos are devastating — enemies with weakened perception are far easier to hit with large AoE abilities
Prowler (C) and Seize (Q) Synergy
Fade's Prowler auto-tracks Haunt-marked enemies or the nearest enemy. Seize traps enemies in an area.
- Classic combo: Haunt mark enemies → Seize to trap them → Prowler to track the trapped enemy → teammate follows up for the kill
- Safe corner check: When unsure if a room has enemies, send Prowler first — it auto-seeks and attacks any enemy inside
Fade is not a fragging agent — your value is in intel, not kills. A good Fade game isn't measured by K/D, but by how many times your recon gave teammates an information advantage. A team-first mindset is the key to mastering Fade.
