Neon: Speed Is a Weapon
Neon is Valorant's fastest agent. Her kit revolves around high mobility and information disruption. Mastering Neon's advanced techniques makes you the most elusive presence on the battlefield.
High Gear Slide Advanced Techniques
Neon's E ability, High Gear, grants a massive movement speed boost. Pressing crouch during High Gear executes a slide. The slide isn't just a movement tool — it's a powerful combat technique.
- Slide Shooting: You can shoot during the slide. Your hitbox is lowered and you're moving at extreme speed, making you incredibly hard to hit
- Slide Cancel: Press jump during a slide to cancel it while maintaining speed. Use when your slide path is blocked and you need to change direction
- Slide Entry: Slide into contested areas during High Gear — your ultra-low profile and high speed completely invalidate defenders' pre-aimed crosshair positions
Relay Bolt Lightning Wall Combat Tips
Neon's Q ability creates lightning walls on both sides, dealing damage and blocking vision.
- Lightning Wall + Slide: Slide in under the cover of your lightning wall — by the time enemies' vision clears, you're already in their face
- Wall for Map Control: Deploy lightning walls in narrow corridors (like A Main entrance) to split defenders into isolated groups, then pick them off one by one
- Wall vs Utility: Place lightning walls in front of enemy sentry turrets or traps — the wall's damage destroys these gadgets
Practical Spots by Map
Sunset
- A Main Entry: Use High Gear to full-speed slide into A Site from A Main, with lightning walls blocking CT sightlines
- Mid Courtyard: Deploy lightning walls across Mid from Market to Courtyard — your entire team can cross safely
Lotus
- C Site Attack: High Gear slide into C Site from C Long, lightning walls blocking both CT and Water
- A Site Retake: Lightning walls across the rotating door area from Mid, paired with a slide to quickly clear defenders at A Tree
Neon's biggest weakness is limited High Gear energy. Manage your energy bar carefully — don't keep High Gear active when you don't need it. Good Neon players know when to accelerate and when to conserve.
